What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, or rather what’s good for the mouse is good for the dead mouse. So sayeth Joel Zimmerman /aka/ Deadmau5.
Although he had no shortage of words for Disney on his Twitter account in response to Disney’s move to block his trademark registration, he and his lawyers upped the ante earlier today by serving a cease and desist letter to Disney Interactive, claiming they were engaging in both copyright and trademark infringement.
The claim is being made over a video Disney produced for the Disney Channel and currently hosts online. One of a series of cartoon remix videos (dubbed ‘Re-Micks’), is one featuring ‘Ghosts’n’Stuff’ by Deadmau5. In the letter, Zimmerman claims no knowledge of either himself or EMI giving Disney permission to use the song for the video and is thus claiming both copyright and trademark infringement.
lets test a theory, it takes em 10 years to oppose a trademark, lets see how long it takes em to take down a video.
